BEANS RECIPE

INGREDIENTS FOR BEANS PREPARATION

  • 2 cups of beans (brown, black eyed or honey beans any of your choice)
  • 2 large onions
  • Pepper to taste and choice
  • 3 cooking spoon palm oil or more (depending on the quantity you want to cook)
  • Stock cubes to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • 2-4 tablespoons of crayfish
  • Shredded dry/smoked fish of choice

Note:If you want your beans to soften quick use and of the following below

  • Onions
  • Potash
  • Baking soda
  • Pressure cooker

Note You can also cook your beans along with any of the followings below:

Yam, ripe or unripe plantain, sweet potatoes, irish potatoes or corn,rice

PROCEDURE FOR PREPARING BEANS

  • Pick your beans and set aside, then boil your water
  • Once the water is boiled , wash your beans and put it into the boiling water the boil for some minutes (par-boil)
  • Change the water(optional) then add some sliced onion,dry fish to it this makes it soften quick
  • Allow to come for 30-45 minutes (then the water is dried up a little bit)
  • Add your red oil, crayfish, onion,stock cube,pepper and salt to taste
  • Cook for 5- 10mins then is ready to serve

FOR FRYING BEANS METHOD

Is almost the same with the normal method thing just that you will fry with oil

  • Pick your beans and set aside, then boil your water
  • Once the water is boiled , wash your beans and put it into the boiling water the boil for some minutes (par-boil)
  • Change the water(optional) then add some sliced onion,dry fish to it this makes it soften quick
  • Sieve your beans out then put a dry pot on fire (low heat) allow it to heat .
  • Add your sliced onion,pepper, crayfish, stock cube and salt to taste …stir for 3-5min
  • Add your sieved beans and stir and salt to taste if necessary

You are ready to go!!
